This undertaking involves the:

Our Health & Safety and Environment Policy

Blue Gum Clothing is committed to pursuing industry best practice in all aspects of its performance. Accordingly, the safety, health and well-being of all Blue Gum Clothing employees/contractors, customers and suppliers is considered extremely important and shall not in any way be impaired or prejudiced as a result of working within the organization.

All company members and employees have responsibilities relating to health and safety and must work together to develop work practices that eliminate unsafe conditions and practices.

Each person exercising management or control of any aspect of plant and equipment (including design, operation and maintenance) shall protect people from risk of injury or death from such operations.

In addition, Blue Gum Clothing believes that development – which meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs – is fundamental to Blue Gum Clothing continued success and growth.

Management Responsibilities:

  • To display Blue Gum Clothing Health and Safety policy in prominent places in each work location.
  • To encourage the involvement of all people in achieving a safe and healthy workplace.
  • To provide training and instruction for all employees to ensure that they understand their responsibilities to work without risk to themselves and others and maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • To ensure safe handling use.
  • To ensure that all workplace incidents, accidents and injuries are fully reported, recorded and investigated and relevant people notified.
  • Competent Supervision is recognised by Blue Gum Clothing as an effective method of enforcing Safe Work Practices.
  • Tasks are performed safely.
  • Work instructions and procedures are followed.
  • Individuals are supervised according to their capabilities and the degree of risk to the task.

Policy Statement

Every individual employee shall perform Blue Gum Clothing duties with primary concern for:

  • Their own safety.
  • The safety of fellow employees and the general public.
  • The property, equipment and environment entrusted to their care.
  • To observe all instructions issued to protect their health and safety or the health and safety of others.
  • To co-operate with any rehabilitation program that is arranged to assist recovery from Policies & Procedures injury for themselves or for fellow employees.

Our Risk Management Policy

The Directors and management of Blue Gum Clothing recognize that a range of issues need to be considered whenever a decision is made which has the potential impact our company. The issues include Occupational Health & Safety, environmental, social, technical, statutory and commercial factors.

Our decisions impact our customers, staff, contractors and our clients. It is extremely important to Blue Gum Clothing that our processes take into account the impact of the identified risks on managing directors when major decisions are actioned.

Processes have been put in place to:

  • Record the issues which have been considered in relation to budget, strategic planning, customer service agreements, leases and contract negotiations. This may include the relative cost benefits of the options considered as part of the decision.
  • Control policy and procedures with document development and revisions identified.
  • Monitor the impact of the identified risks on the implementation of the decision and put in place rectification to address deficiencies.
  • The management review of the effectiveness of the processes.
